The Environmental Health Division protects the public’s heath by ensuring all foods produced, stored, and sold are safe, sanitary, and meet required Maryland laws and regulations.
Major activities include:
- Food Service Facility Inspections
- Plan Review
- HACCP Review
- Complaint Inspections
- Outbreak Investigations
- Food service facilities operating in Calvert County are required to have a Food Facility permit. The fee for the permit is based on the type of facility.

Low Priority $180.00
Moderate $230.00
High $300.00
Seasonal (4 Month Consecutive Operation or Less) $180.00
Temporary $50.00
Farmers Market Sampling:
Seasonal Operation (6 months or less operation) $70.00
Annual Operation (more than 6 months operation) $140.00
