Substance Abuse Prevention Services

The Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Program promotes a stable, safe, and healthy environment for all children and families in Calvert County. Program staff actively collaborate with local agencies and organizations to incorporate substance abuse prevention within the community. Prevention programming is data driven, based on the needs of Calvert County and employs evidence based strategies to reduce behavioral health risk factors.

Prevention Services:

  • Presentations and practical information on a variety of alcohol and drug prevention topics at no cost.
  • Guiding Good Choices is a 5 week evidence-based substance abuse prevention program that teaches parents how to reduce the risk that their children will develop alcohol and drug issues, offered at no cost.
  • Training for Intervention Procedures is a skills-based training program designed to prevent intoxication, drunk driving, and underage drinking. This presentation is deal for graduating Seniors as they head off to College. This presentation is offered at no cost.
