Substance Abuse Prevention
The Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Program promotes a stable, safe, and healthy environment for all children and families in Calvert County. Program staff works with local agencies and organizations to incorporate substance abuse prevention into other community activities.
Services include:
- Information and Training on a variety of prevention topics are available to the Calvert County Community through after school programs; community group meetings, such as scouts and church groups; and individually with parents and youth.
- Mini-Grant Program awards community-based grants to organizations promoting research-based alcohol and other drug prevention strategies.
- Parenting Programs are offered in various community settings to strengthen parenting skills and to promote healthy and safe life styles in our families.
- Combating Underage Drinking Program works with a local task force to develop and to implement a comprehensive county-wide approach to reduce alcohol use among our youth.
