Medical Assistance Personal Care Program

What is the Medical Assistance Personal Care Program?
Personal Care helps individuals who have a chronic illness, medical condition, or disability remain in their homes. Services provided assist individuals with basic domestic activities of daily living.

What Services are provided?

  • Assistance with Ambulation and Transferring
  • Toileting
  • Bathing and Dressing
  • Preparation of Meals and Assistance with Feeding

If there are special needs, other services may be provided, such as:

  • Changing of Bed Linens
  • Assistance with Light House Keeping
  • Assistance with Grocery Shopping

Who is Eligible to Apply for Personal Care?
Medical Assistance Recipients under a physician's care for a chronic illness, medical condition, or disability. A Registered Nurse does assessment.

Where to Apply for Medical Assistance Personal Care Services
This program is offered in all Maryland counties. Services are coordinated through local Health Departments. Calvert County residents can call 410.414.9367 or 301.855.1550 and ask for the Personal Care Program.

Personal Care Providers
