Job Description:
Behavioral Health has an opening for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. This position will assess, treat and provide for the behavioral health needs of patients on an outpatient basis in a public behavioral health clinic. Includes diagnostic evaluations, medication evaluations, and medication management. The goal of treatment is to alleviate emotional distress and enable these patients to live more satisfactorily in the community.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary: $65.00 /hour. No on-call or weekend hours.
Job Responsibilities:
We provide outpatient community behavioral health services to adults, children, and the geriatric population, with a jail based behavioral health program, hospital diversion program, shelter-plus care (housing) program and school based behavioral health program. We currently employ two psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, licensed therapists, licensed social workers, and a registered nurse. We utilize an electronic health records system that is connected to the local hospital and 8 large primary care practices, as well as have our own pharmacy on site.
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner must have registered nurse licensure and certification as a psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner as required by the State of Maryland to practice as a nurse practitioner. Ability to work with children highly recommended. Experience with substance related disorders preferable. Must demonstrate analytic ability necessary to diagnose patients and develop and implement plans of action for long and short-term management of acute and chronic health problems.Must demonstrate substantial interpersonal skills necessary to instruct patients and their families and to collaborate with health team members.
