Medical Assistance Transportation Program
Calvert County Health Department assists county residents who have a valid Medical Assistance card and need help in arranging transportation to planned medical appointments. A brief telephone screening will be conducted to determine eligibility for the program.
Transportation is limited to medical services in Calvert County or hospital clinics in Washington, D.C or Baltimore.
The Calvert County Health Department Medical Assistance (MA) Transportation Program will require 48 business hours’ notice for medical transportation requests. The 48 hours do not include weekends and holidays.
Call the Health Department at 410-414-2489 or 443-975-6418 for more information.
Weather Policies
During Transporting Services: In the event that inclement weather develops during the workday, a decision will be made by AAA Transport whether or not to continue their transportation operation. This decision will be based on data received from the Maryland State Police and any other available sources and will determine when to stop taking people to appointments and begin the pickup process. Under no circumstances will riders be left at appointments without transportation back home.
