Income before taxes and other deductions are considered in determining eligibility.
Maternal and Child Health
The Calvert County Maternal Child Health Program assists pregnant women to access and properly utilize health related services, to practice healthy behaviors, and to utilize good parenting skills. Additionally there are infants, children, and adolescents with special health care and psychosocial needs who are at risk for poor life outcomes due to difficulties accessing care. At risk women and children are referred to the program for evaluation and needed services, placing a strong emphasis on frequent home visiting and case management, to improve pregnancy outcomes and to improve the emotional, social, and physical development of children.
Maternal and Child Health Programs include Healthy Beginnings, Healthy Start, Children with Special Health Care Needs, Lead Poisoning Prevention Program, and the Surveillance and Quality Improvement Program.
