Rabies Prevention
The Health Department’s Environmental and Community Health Divisions, in collaboration with Calvert County Animal Control, have the responsibility to control human and animal exposure to rabies in Calvert County in a community wide program.
Rabies is endemic in Calvert County within wild animals. Therefore it is very important that domestic animals receive pre-exposure rabies vaccinations. Clinics in the spring and fall are offered each year at no charge to residents in Calvert County.
